Mehiläinen Group expands to Norway and Denmark and strengthens its position in Sweden through the acquisition of Aleris

May 18, 2026 The Finnish healthcare and social care provider Mehiläinen has signed an agreement to acquire Aleris, a leading specialist healthcare provider in the Nordic countries. Through the acquisition, Mehiläinen will complement its services in Sweden and expand into new markets through Aleris’ operations in Norway and Denmark. Together the companies have exceptional capabilities to improve access to high-quality care and support the development of healthcare systems in the Nordic countries. The completion of the acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals.

Aleris strengthens its diagnostic imaging offering with the acquisition of CT-klinikken in Denmark

May 13, 2026 With the ambition of delivering a comprehensive diagnostic imaging service offering to patients and partners across both Eastern and Western Denmark, Aleris Denmark is acquiring CT-klinikken in Aarhus.

Aleris Foundation awards funding to 11 Scandinavian healthcare projects

Dec 03, 2025 ‍Every year, the Aleris Foundation awards funds to projects that contribute to the development of healthcare in Scandinavia. Among this year’s applications, the jury has selected four Swedish, four Danish, and three Norwegian projects to share SEK 750,000.

Aleris Elisabethsjukhuset Ranked Sweden’s Best Hospital 2025

Oct 23, 2025 Aleris Elisabethsjukhuset in Uppsala has been named Sweden’s best hospital in 2025. This is shown in the latest National Patient Survey conducted by the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SKR), where 66 hospitals across the country were evaluated by their patients.

Aleris enters a new region in Sweden

Aug 13, 2025 Through the acquisition of the specialist clinic Nordiskt Centrum för Kirurgi in Linköping, also known as Nordiskt Centrum, Aleris is establishing itself in Östergötland. The clinic is well-established, with broad expertise and high accessibility. The acquisition is part of Aleris’s strategy to provide accessible, high-quality, and needs-based specialist healthcare across the country.

Aleris in the final round for the Svea Prize

Jun 10, 2025 Aleris’ proprietary AI assistant, Albot, has been named one of four finalists for the 2025 Svea Prize – a national award recognising innovation in healthcare and social services. Albot supports Aleris employees by streamlining access to information and reducing time spent on administrative tasks. Developed in-house and deeply integrated with the organisation’s systems, Albot is already making everyday work more efficient and patient-focused. The winner will be announced at the Quality Fair in Gothenburg on 11 November.
